So this week we're going to learn how to ply yarn on a top whirl drop spindle. This is the amazing fiber goodness currently on mine. Isn't it lovely! It turned out even more wonderful than I had imagined.
Okay well lets get started so you all can be happy, happy, happy just like me.
You will need your two balls of hand spun singles, your drop spindle and two heavy bowls. Plying is really quite easy but can feel a bit awkward when your just starting out. The main thing is to try not to get your singles tangled before adding in the twist. And we are now spinning in a counter clockwise direction.
Here's a short video tutorial to help you get started. I do hope I did a good enough job to help you get through this next step. Still working on my video skills. Lol... It's not perfect but I think you can get the gist of it. Please feel free to leave your questions in the comment box below. I will be more than happy to help.
Next week we will be in the last phase. How to wind off your spindle, set the twist and wrap your new amazing yarn into a skien.
I really do love how this turned out. I'm calling it cotton candy twist. Can't wait to see some of your amazing creations. So if you post them please, please, please send me a link.

Wishing you all a happy week!
